I recently shifted to a rented place in Hyderabad, and need to get a big desk for myself.
At my place in Pune, I have a Ikea Alex + real wood board setup, which is pretty nice but expensive.
I was trying to avoid spending a lot, so need your suggestions.
I have quite a big corner space for the table, 7 feet on the left side (with a switchboard at around 5 feet from ground, on leftmost corner of this wall) and 6 feet on the right side.
What are my options?
Since this is a rented place, I can’t get shelves separately, as I would prefer not to put any extra holes in the wall. So a desk that has shelves/can incorporate more shelves for display/storage would be preferred.
I have one in sight, but the tabletop and shelves seem to be MDF which falls last in my preferred materials. (Real wood->plywood->engineered wood/MDF).
Ideally want to spend less than 10K INR. Thanks!
How about a custom made mdf table?
Why mdf? Because its damn cheap compared to ply and that you are on rented.
You can make it in two parts and just attach them on the corners. Advantage of this will be if whenever required in the future to shift one part of the table or make use of one such part you can freely move it across your house.
I’m planning similar setup for near future.

Noted. Custom made will always be better, but will then have to look for some design with shelves etc and get it made here
If you can post few snaps of corner mentioning size in photos. Might get better suggestions
Door on the left of the 7ft wall, and refrigerator on the right of the 6ft wall (bottom if you see the image)
7ft wall has a big wall switches panel/power socket at the left end at around 5ft from floor.
I have looked at some options on Amazon, and this seems ok:
My only gripe is the use of lightweight metal and mdf board (as per reviews)
I need a sturdy one, may keep two water cooled PCs (one of them with 8x HDDs) on it
