You can request seller for 2 days test warranty( if he is okay that is)
And then you should not worry much.
Apple products are built very well and very unlikely to fail.
Apple Care + is good for people who are bit rough in handling or just don’t mind spending extra for peace of mind.
In most cases I have seen people atleast the one among my relatives never having to make use of Apple Care + even after buying it.
( Except for one time when a child spilled water on a newly purchased 1.5L Macbook )
It is worth taking a chance imho.
Apple care for an electronic item which is known to be really reliable and basically sit on a desk and not be moved.. kinda seems pointless.

Apple care makes sense for mobiles, watches, laptops. mini has no screen.
I owned a 2007 Mac mini. never had an issue with it. now I own a m4 Mac mini. never had an issue until now. touch wood
IMO, waste of money apple care for Mac mini as it has no screen or keyboard. thats what usually fail.

This device was to be used by me to get re-acquainted with MacOS and see if it could work as a backup light editing device. I almost placed an order today morning via my business account on Amazon so ye, pretty serious. Amazon would have been marginally cheaper (and with warranty and possibly EMI) but no 10gbe on that.
The reason for wanting apple care/warranty was because if things go right I would have given this to my father after March/April once the new M5 Pros would be announced and since he has apple care on all his devices it’s less of a headache for me.
