So I had purchased lifetime key a long time back. I recently saw the real time protection cannot be switched on. It asks me to buy real time protection.
I can scan and check drives fine. just this issue. Has anyone else seen a change ?
They changed their subscription model. I was asked the same back in the day. There was a exploit in their software and hackers were able to generate keys which were lifetime. So in order to curb those they changed their subscription model internally. People were missed back then and this wasn’t revealed publically but people were offered 1 year of their subscription tier free of cost.
I would suggest using either kaspersky or bitdefender free instead. Much better detection rates and overall a better solution. Even the paid ones for both can be had for pretty cheap if you want, but its not really needed.
Free variant includes the same security, paid versions just have extra features

I reinstalled, logged in with the email id I had used to purchase and it detected my lifetime sub and also real time protection is on now.
A simple uninstall and install did it.
