Mechanical Keyboard Switch Broke. How can I repair it?

I have a Razer Blackwidow Lite with Razer Orange Switches.
1 switch (Ctrl key) broke and a part of it is stuck in the keycap. See attached photos.

  1. How can I take the broken piece out of the keycap?
  2. How can I repair the switch? Can I glue it back?

You’ll have to desolder the broken switch and replace it with a new one
This particular model has mechanical switched and official razer switches are available on amazon for 3100 rs (36 pieces), but i would recommend getting a similar switch from meckeys and replacing it

The keycap isn’t broken so try with twizzers if you can pull out the broken part of the switch

I’d call it good riddance. Razer switches are incredibly looked down upon by the mechanical keyboard community. As hitomi said, you’re better off getting custom switches (not Razer) and soldering them on.

I would glue the whole keycap back for the cheapest solution using something like “fevikwik” see if it sticks. Just don’t try to remove the keycap once it is stuck. Most of the forces on the key are helping the sticking process so as long as you are using the keyboard normally, it will stay put. I would not spend too much money on switches.

I am most inclined towards this solution. Thanks. I just hope it sticks.

Ya I’m not aware they aren’t that good. But when I bought it, they were cheaper and looked cool.

I have tried tweazzers, but sadly not coming out. I was thinking of using the hot glue method (like in keysy), but not sure whether that would melt the plastic or not.
And my soldering skills are horrible. Still will get new switches, if gluing doesn’t work.
