The whole world is using MAS. Microsoft doesn’t really care, unless you are running a business with a bunch of PCs on the same network. When they all phone home at once, Microsoft sees the spike and does some form of validation and comes knocking like, “So… what’s going on here?”

Not promoting piracy. This is the other side.

Here is the legitimate version, for personal use.

Here is the legitimate version, for personal and business/commercial use.

Both are for single PC. Lifetime and the license can be transferred to new PC every 90 days.

Fun fact - The Office that comes pre-installed from OEM on your PC/Laptop, it’s generally tied to that specific device and can not be transferred.

This is the specific reason I have to buy overpriced oem builds for my dad’s office rather than building one myself because the windows and office license is damn costly.

Here’s ANOTHER reason to switch Office PCs to Linux.
Zorin, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, are all excellent alternatives.
Additionally, Libre Office has got EXCEEDINGLY good to a level that you cannot distinguish between MS Office and Libre Office at first glance.
Official MS Windows and MS Office Licenses shouldn’t be mandatory expenses in 2025 and beyond.

Look to get bind keys which will link to your Microsoft account if you want to buy them. Else just use massgrave for home use

It is absolutely ONLY at first glance. The feature parity is staggering. Forget Excel. Even Word and PowerPoint have so many features that are QOL that not one of the free office suites come close to even matching them.

And then there are the muscle memory shortcuts, media handling, pen input, and what not.

For powerusers and long time users, there is nothing even close and MS knows it. Hence the ever increasing subscription fees.

If you want to use once or twice, Libre does the job, but not for everyday use.

not possible tbh, first thing is the other softwares only work on windows and if some how they run on linux then also training employees on other operating system and other application is a havoc and nightmare. It would cost cheaper to buy MS office licenses than training the employees.

Buy MS Office or MS OS keys from here: https://www.digiworld4u.in/

This guy provides support for longer periods of time via WhatsApp.

Alternatively, you can buy a microsoft 365 annual license from Flipkart. Still selling for 1299. May not the best bargain but if you’re considering buying a legitimate permanent license, the subscription model could cost similar?

Fr?

Cuz I bought 3 asus laptops and all those licenses show up on my Microsoft account. So ig those licenses are linked to ms account and can be used on any pc?

I am 90% sure those can not be transferred to new PC, they are linked to your account for different purposes.

If you try to use it on different PC, it might work initially but will stop and ask for activation, once it verifies that hardware IDs don’t match.

Even I want to ask this. Didn’t ask earlier because it is WTB thread.

Can I use office on any (two) computers now?

Nope OEM licenses are device linked, you can only use them with the device they came pre installed

This is windows subreddit, Windows is linked to the motherboard, afaik office isn’t

thanks everyone for your responses. Issue resolved.
