Natural Selection 2 has decent user base
Age of Empires 2. Civ 5. These are two classics that I know of.
I miss RTS games. Used to spam red alert 2 yuri’s revenge back in the day.

If anyone ever played Warzone2100 the best game from 1999 one hell of an interesting game!
Even today it gets updated with lots of mods etc. and now the game is open-source too.
Age of Empires II is by far the most popular game but it has been some time since was active in RTS communities; can expect other popular modern RTS to be up there as well like Civilization VI (although I will consider civ as a turn-based strategy). Very much enjoyed the Stronghold series back in the day with the classic Stronghold HD and Stronghold crusader, Rise of nations was also pretty good.
Civilization is TBS 4X rather than RTS. Has anyone tried grey goo?
Age of Empires 2, have been there since 1999. Microsoft released AOE2 : Definitive Edition with much improved visuals and 4k graphics in 2019. It is also the biggest RTS going by esports tournament money right now.
There were a handful- Shogun series, AoE/AoM, Command and Conquer series, Red Alert and its variants.
However, RTS games have slowly lost their popularity in India im guessing
Age of Empire 2 definitive edition.. seen some people playing Aoe4 as well.. but mostly AOE2..
