Moto G4 Plus - black horizontal line swipes down on unlocking through fingerprint

After the latest Nougat update on my Moto G4 Plus(which I bought 2 months ago), i am seeing a peculiar issue where a black horizontal line swoops from the top to bottom.

Steps:

  1. Unlock screen. Lock screen appears.
  2. Open the phone with your finger print.

As soon as the lock screen goes away, there is a thick black line which moves from top to bottom on the screen. Before it was a thin line when the problem first appeared. But over the past 10 days, it only has got thicker.

Anyone else got this problem? Any leads why this could be happening?

Rush and get the display replaced. Or if you wanna play then try downgrade and see if the line issue resolves.
