Long Story short, I broke my Shure Mic micro USB connector while trying to adjust it
I will try to see to repair it tomorrow, but I Think, it’s time to go XLR. Previously I had a thread somewhere here and MOTU M4 is what I was considering. Right now M2 can also work but spending 20k and not spending 8K for me sounds dum when I might need more than 2 XLR ports in future, not sure but feels so.
Ok why this thread,
Mostly out of stock and amazon seller might only have 2 or so stocks as last time I was checking, that was the case.
Out of stock for most website outside amazon.
28.9K PRICESSSSS
What if it goes bad, how reliable is their service in INDIA?
MacOS and Windows Support for how much long if got in 2025!
Silly question came to my mind while creating this thread, Can I mod Shure Mv7 to get a USB C port instead of Micro USB to power and data transfer
Since this is a very niche topic I hope you are asking these questions on other forums as well, particularly forums that are audio enthusiasts oriented.
Reposting because, i messed up on the edit (learning the new forum lol)
Hi, I have been producing music as hobby for more than 20 years (500K+ streams on spotify etc.)
For interface, you can go with Audient, Focusrite, M-Audio, Presonus. The base varient will most probably have either 1xlr + 1 jack or 2xlr as input, and you can choose any according to your budget or needs
I owned these product currently and all works fine and are equipt with Grammy Award winning sounds.
Audient iD4 (MKII) (iD4 series tends to disconnect when power fluctuate, and recently sold)
M-Audio AIR 192 (used in my order PC)
Audient Evo4 (currently using in main rig)
And then there’s the mic. For studio vocals session
AKG P120, Audio-Technica AT2020, etc. are great in their price segment.
There are also bundles for M-Audio and Focusrite which has those Mic+Interface+Headphones, those are great too.
And it really depends on your budget too, just get these known brands and you are good to go. You really do not have to go MOTU unless you are married to the brand which there is no problem.
For macOS almost all the budget audio interface which are less than 20k should mostly be plug and play (without drivers). For windows you will need drivers.
The setup I am planning is has below:
Audio Interface for Shure Mv7 (owned) x 1 (right now 2 to 3 in future)
Dt 990 Pro 250 OHM (owned) version.
Stream audio to Mac + windows in streaming setup
Mac only
Windows my station to Windows streaming.
My Windows station only
I was using Voice Meter Banana but don’t know if Audio Interface would be able to solve the audio transfer to other PC at all or now.
But current priority is Any system I connect via hub where the DAC will be connected should have Clean and Proper AUIDO. I find my voice to be on lower side.
I know this software, but I have never used it. But I think should be possible with any audio interface.
The Audient Evo Lineup has Loopback features built in, and Audio Gain features, which are made specifically for Podcast purposes I believe. You might want to look into those. And I think multiple outputs on the audio interface can also make your life easier knowing your requirements.
In your use cases, yes because of the built in features, loopback + audio gain will very useful if you are doing podcast. Though those features can be implemented using VSTs and what nots, its good that its built in. And there is nothing wrong with the quality of the interface.
