Multiple issues....

I am facing some peculiar issues…

  1. It all started when I installed Battlefield 2, it crashes without any error to the desktop as soon as I click on .

Is it a online version only or can I play it as a single player on a standalone PC ? I’ll post some screenshots later. It says something like and boom…the desktop. Tried restoring the video settings of the game to minimal…deleted the files from My Documents>BF2>cons…(i don’t exactly remember…)

The video drivers are version 81.98…nothing worked. Uninstalled drivers and reinstalled the original drivers (version 77.77)…still nothing, game still crashes.

  1. After reinstalling the original drivers…the keyboard stopped working. Checked device manager…Error Code 39. Reconnected keyboard connector, uninstalled the keyboard drivers and rebooted…no success. Connected keyboard in mouse port… error message in BIOS.

Reinstalled the video drivers (V81.98)…no success. Reinsatlled all the drivers (chipset, IDE, SMBus, etc..)…still no success. The only way it works is by doing a system restore to couple of days ago.

The keyboard works in BIOS and the also the F8, once the windows logo appears, the keyboard is locked.

Any ideas ???

Any suggestions ???

Tried to reinstall the video driver (77.30), the keybaord stopped working again. Checked the event log…there was an error:

The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: i8042prt.sys

Any suggestions ???

Came across this info on completely removing old nVidia drivers a while back - may be of help to you… PLEASE be carefull when working inside the Registry. Make a Backup !!!
