Mumbai police returns 800 stolen mobiles

This is why I say atleast a police complain should be filed when mobile is stolen.

You never know when Police might feel like doing some work and it may end up benefiting you.

Congrats on the great job done by Mumbai Police.

Double congrats to the Original Owners.

Yup, filing a police complaint is a must — not just to get your phone back, but also as proof that it’s not in your possession if anything illegal is done using it.
BTW, Kolkata Police have been doing this for several years, though it usually doesn’t make the news. They post updates on their Facebook and X pages from time to time.

2014: my cousin’s splendor got stolen in a village near Pune. He filed a complaint with police then.

2015: it was found by Pune City police in a mass raid. Didn’t bother to inform the owner. It was stored in a yard.

2021: a commissioner had enough, told to clear the yard to store newer vehicles. Contacted owners to collect their, now rustic, vehicles, in the middle of the lockdown. Cousin somehow managed to fetch his bike but it he had to junk it as it was useless.

Back to the main story, it’s nothing but a stunt.
