Here I want to share my experience of getting a Amazon flash deal discount on re-ordering when my original order delivery had some issue
I was able to complete transaction of a product under sale price (say x), but the product got returned (the reason for my case was that I was not at location when they attempted delivery - they attempted before due date).
I called Amazon customer care and explained.
They were not very clear but I believe they have a set number of delivery attempts
They said if the order status is return to seller then they cannot retry delivery - this can also happen if there is damage to product during delivery
My money would be refunded as per policy
I was asked to replace order
Here, I told them now the price has increased (to say y) - how will that be taken care of?
They sent me an email mentioning my failed order and explained that if a new order is placed, a gift voucher of amount y minus x would be credited if the below steps were followed.
I had to re-place the order of the same product (exact SKU) and from the same seller
Then wait till return window closes for the product
Then contact the customer care again, share the email details
The difference amount would be credited to my amazon pay balance in the next few days.
I followed the recommended process and got the amount credited without much issue.
Hope this helps someone in case they face issues once flash sale orders have been placed.
Note: obviously I have not dummy tested this against various other possible scenarios.
They do this for any offer. For example, the one-time cashback offers don’t usually get reapplied when an order is cancelled, so they always tell you to place the order again and connect with them. I always request a confirmation over email for those cases.

I had the same thing happen today. LG Washing Machine was supposed to be delivered today.
My city doesn’t have their bigger warehouse to store that so it comes from a city 80kms away.
The order reached the final destination warehouse and it was supposed to be delivered today.
I did not receive any details to contact the delivery executive and “a delivery attempt was made”
No one contacted me neither did someone show up at the doorstep for the delivery and I had an automated bot call which said that a delivery attempt was made and would I like to have another attempt and I tapped on that option.
I got an email mentioning that the order was cancelled because delivery was rejected.
The current status said “Returning to Seller”
After going through the maze of contacting customer service in the app, I managed to get in touch with the CS, he understood the issue and assured me he’s gonna make a redelivery request for tomorrow.
I was worried about this only that if the price rose after I get the refund of the return I never asked, I was gonna contact support as well to get a credit.

Speak to the cc, ask them for guidance. Be very clear about your expectation of getting the deal at the discounted rate. Let us know in the thread if the process i was told was also told told to you. Then we can know if it is a proper SOP for amazon.
Update regarding my order. The customer support executive’s email seems poorly drafted but yeah apparantly they returned the order to the seller without any delivery attempt. Might be due to some issue that might’ve occured in transit but raising the issue to Customer Care will grant you a credit difference as your Amazon Pay balance as OP has mentioned. Gonna order next week once I’m home.
I managed to get them to commit the price difference for gold as the delivery failed because the shipping label was washed out. I did not go ahead with the purchase.
