As the title says, I need help with a fitness tracker or smart watch. I have never used any before and I am thinking it might help me move more, exercise on schedule…
I have a budget or around 10k, can push to 12k. Can you suggest some options that you have already used. If a fitness tracker would be good enough or going with a smart watch is better?
I have samsung s23u right now, should I go with a samsung watch in that case?
can recommend the samsung watch 4 ,been using for some time now bought used from an fellow TE member you can get it for around 3-4k easily here ,the tracking features are great ,with wear os you can download some playstore apps ,but the battery life will only last 2 days max for me it lasts one day as i use aod all the time ,it takes almost 1h40m to charge . overall its an good watch if you dont mind its battery life.

The difference between Smart Watch and Fitness Tracker is mostly battery life nowdays.
As the GPS and heart rate monitoring etc has been pretty close in numbers to each other unless you raise the budget very high and go for Garmin and Apple top model watches.
But you sound like you need something that will motivate you instead of giving you more of an extention of your mobile on your wrist.
I had gifted my relative Garmin Vivoactive 3 back in those days and it was very motivating .The watch would even vibrate and indicate to move around when it noticed one sitting for quite some time.
I will try to be more specific which one I can suggest in recent times as I have not followed much getting Garmin Enduro fitness watch. A briliiant watch with superb battery life.
Almost one month without a single charge ( heart rate monitor off)
With GPS tracking I get more than 50-60 hrs of tracking which is like almost 3 days continous GPS tracking.
So these are the features of dedicated fitness watch.
I have also used Samsung Galaxy 2( iirc) pretty decent and It was a nice combination of both a fitness watch and smart watch.
So you can decide which one you want to go for.

Thanks, I’m leaning a bit towards devices like Samsung fit 3 instead of a proper watch as it can last for longer, can track as well. Mainly I do not want notifications on my watch every single time, do not want distractions as well. But watch will allow me to leave my phone behind in case of running as so which can be very helpful also not to mention using music apps directly.

It all depends on the quality of the data and the accuracy which are seeking. If you just want the watch to be your motivator then fit 3 will suffice you else you would have look for proper fitness tracker in the likes of garmin, amazefit.
