Need help regarding choice of PSU for 300W class cards

I plan to use a 4070 Super rn but I would like to have the option to upgrade to cards in the TDP range of 300-ish watts 9070 xt/5080 in the future (in case I find a good deal on them/my budget allows in the next couple of years). This is (supposedly) an ATX3.1 PSU without any mention of a 12v 2x6 cable rated B on SPL’s tier list while this is rated B- and does mention a 12v 2x6 cable. There is a PN750D listed on Computech for 6.6k too but idk if I should buy from there, I would also like to hear you guys opine on whether a good 650W unit should be enough considering Hardware Unboxed shows total system power consumption for both 9070xt and 5080 stays under 500W. I just need some help on which unit should I go for - one unit is rated slightly better on the tier list and seems to be an overall good 750 unit but the deepcool has extras like a dedicated 12vhpwr cable and a longer warranty (10 years vs Cooler Master’s 5) and a gold rating (ik gold/bronze doesn’t really indicate quality/stability and is purely an efficiency rating but it’s just because these two units seem so similar otherwise). I’m also open to other suggestions in 6-6.5k price range.

PSU_TierList
Use this spreadsheet, every brand is not available(Most of them are available in USA and not India, and vice versa), but sure helps ya.

I’m sorry but, did you read the body of the post? :sob:

Go with this:https://computechstore.in/product/msi-mag-mag-a750gl-pcie5/ @ 7.5k
I think 750watts is more than enough for RX 9070 XT or RTX 5080 GPU’s.
If you are buying overclocked versions of the above GPUs then you might need 850watts and not more. Okay.

7.5k is out of my budget. I was gonna get a much cheaper CX550 at first but decided to extend the budget after I was delivered the new D-Tier black label unit instead of the older B-Tier grey label sku lol. Only extended budget to have room for future upgrades. Also I’m the kind to undervolt and leave it to lose 3-4% performance if I can cut power by 15+% and get run cooler/quieter.

My bad. DeepCool sent me to 650W PSU (IK but 650W is less down the path). Also, it would be a better choice to get 850W. Prolab seems to be the cheapest, but it’s not tested by anyone, and I tried searching whether it’s in-house or OEM sourced, a little skeptical about that.

ProLab is a new line from AntEsports, I don’t think we’ll see reviews on them anytime soon. They don’t seem to exist outside the subcontinent. Also is an 850W PSU really necessary for a 5080? Techpowerup recommends 750.

It’s by ANT Esports. I wouldn’t risk it.

OP, just get the PN750D (non-modular version) from Computech for 6.6K. The site is legit, I bought many parts from there, with zero hassle, including my PSU

Will be my third attempt to buy smth from them, let’s hope they don’t cancel again.

You could try and buy a 1000w Server/workstation PSU . If in chennai try Primesource

I live in the hinterlands of jharkhand bro :broken_heart:

They might have shipping options . You can also give a try for other server SMPS like intel or super micro . Their server power supplies have good pfc and are beefy .

Never knew that AntEsports made this subbrand, thanks for the info. I would still dig a little deeper for their OEM source.

Lol, that’s because the Prolab branding is splattered across all listings and marketing material. They’ve clearly tucked away the Ant Esports branding; you really have to look for it.

Found something on that ProLab not the best review. But something better than nothing. ProLab_XP-750

Tested in a system with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RTX 3050, the XPower XP-750 PSU handled full-load scenarios without flinching.

Even I was wonder what did the guy test here (Might be a paid review)? LMAO. But someone pointed it out as SAMA(XF-750) rebrand, On the facebook page for this review. I just went for the Images but even they are horrible.

The two units look completely different.

However, the Sama unit died during testing. So did the second unit. Lol

Moral of the story: Ant Esports hiding behind an obnoxious “ProLabs” branding makes it about as legit as a Maruti 800 hiding behind a stick-on Ferrari logo

" Both units failed before completing the full test suite. As a result, we cannot ensure its performance under high loads or its potential impact on your computer."

IK this is older unit v1.0 but according to the so called “review” it said the it was v2.0. But looking at the pics it was not on the mainboard but for 1 of the daughter board. And also, to the guy who pointed that it is XF-750 not a 100% guaranteed that it is that same model. And also there is superFlower leadex 3 and 7 avaialable in India which is more trusty I suppose.

Superflower is a Tier A manufacturer when it comes to PSUs. They also make their own stuff. No OEMs. They were also the OEM for EVGA’s best PSUs, such as the G2 and G3.
