Hence I bought it first and now thinking what to do ![]()
It has 1440p 240hz 18 inch display. Itās the first time I have experienced 240hz and let me tell you it feels buttery smooth.
If I ever decide to sell, it will go in Garage section ![]()
Get a mini pc like how @theagilecoder suggested
Donāt worry, you will do amazing things in life. And probably have bigger and better problems than me to solve.
So like buy 2 egpu connecting board and 1 mini pc.
sell everything except gpu and power supply if going with that route.
Good Idea @theagilecoder
Heās doing same in his video tho temperature are high in his minipc
is it preowned?
Yeah.. I donāt think you can get new at that price.
Just saw this in my feed. Excellent technical analysis. Maybe in two years, it will be available here and cheap and can be paired with the latest thinkpad.
From where did you get the mini pc? Is ubuy legit? Will there be any customs on top of the prices?
If you have good internet at both locations, streaming is very viable now, thatās how I managed with my PC only at my work location. I just carried a low power laptop with me when traveling and stream the PC back home. Works well for both games and remote desktop usage.
Granted the latency would depend on how far the physical locations are from each other. 30-50ms is good in terms of experience. 70-80 starts getting noticeable and anything beyond that I wouldnāt use personally.
If you want to give this setup a try before deciding anything, drop a PM. I can set it up so you can try it on my PC and see how it feels.
Do I need a static IP though? Anyway, sent a DM.
Not necessary, I donāt have a static IP. I just use tailscale, any other tunneling VPN is fine.
From USA, someone I knew coming from there. That is the procurement problem.
Thats why I also recommend the Motobook60 laptop and doing surgury for adding oculink port.
Since the PC got sold locally, will put my Razer Blade 18 to use for now. (Note the small UPS in the left corner, 600VA. Yeah that will work for my monitor and the laptop charger)
Thanks for helping me test this. I will be honest, I didnāt have high expectations. I expected high latency because I had used moonlight for streaming locally to another TV.
But my mind was blown away after testing it. 1080p 120fps had no latency (atleast nothing noticeable).
Thank you so much good man @Kosmas for helping me try it, I will definitely pursue creating my home PC as a server and using a light weight client in my work city. I have an S24 which has dex, I hope I can use that. Will try out things and update the thread.
