FTP / through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) / SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)
MMS (Microsoft Media Services)
RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol)
PNM (rename PNM to RTSP)
BitTorrent
eMule
It has 2 components - DL manager, called Net Transport, and a FTP client known as FTP Transport. They both have similar interfaces, very easy to use and having a small number of elements.

Hmm.. didn’t even heard a name.. I prefer Flashget Freeware
Flashget doesnt support MMS and there are many sites containing vids out there using mms protocol
for RS downloads
