Pre-owned Netgear router bought from TE member @chetansha in September 2025. Could not get Unbound and AdGuard running in Entware on it so got Beryl AX-3000 from @desi_gamer . Nothing wrong with it except chipped antenna screw, received it as is. Got it for 2500 from @chetansha , now giving it away for 2000.
That chipped screw will it cause issues in connection?
There is no problem in its functioning whatsoever. The only “issue” I can say is that, for all the antennae, “khada nahi hota“! maybe that’s so because I did not want other antenaae to developed any such snag so did not tighten them fully, just enough to orient them according to Fleming’s Left hand rule

i have same because of EOL replaced with FreshTomato which is still maintained and much better

Fresh tomato and Advanced Tomato before that, made this router really great. Still one of the best in range and beefy processor.

xvortex is better, i thought…
xvortex is getting old,freshtomato is maintained ,router is now @ End-of-Life,xvortex uses offical firmware and improves it but since router is EOL the official firmware will not come anymore ,freshtyomato uses linux and not offical firmware so it is maintained
i have 2 linksys ea6900 cfe modded to rt ac 68u also EOL ,before one merlin router and other as merlin mesh now both freshtomato one router one mesh,more feature and more stable

can we load on merlin/xvortex or do we have to go back to asus before loading ..

Tomato has a VPN version. You can Google for specific protocol it supports. But speed will take a hit as you make 13 yr old proc do more work.
