As for the C2, it happens to be a “real” dual SIM phone where both the SIM cards would be active. The first SIM card on the Nokia C2 sits underneath the battery and the second is ‘hot-swappable’, a feature unique to Nokia. This means the second SIM card can be removed and inserted when the phone is on. Apart from being dual SIM, the C2 will also offer its users a wide range of information covering healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment via Nokia’s Ovi Life Tools, as well as the email account for the developing world, Ovi Mail. In addition to Ovi Mail, it also supports Nokia Messsaging - making the C2 a very capable entry level phone. It has an FM radio and music player and guess what? It can take microSD cards of up to 32GB!
Nokia also took the wraps off the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, an alternative charging solution built especially for people with limited access to electricity.
The estimated retail prices of the new Nokia mobile phones, before taxes and subsidies, are:
Nokia C1 (C1-00) - EUR 30 (Rs. 1,700) - Dual SIM (1 active at a time)
The Nokia C1 (C1-00) is expected to ship in the third quarter of 2010, with the Nokia C1 (C1-01) in the early fourth quarter, and the Nokia C1 (C1-02) and Nokia C2 towards the end of the fourth quarter 2010.

So Nokia has finally entered the Dual SIM market. Guess the low cost players like Micromax, Videocon and Maxx Mobile have started to take customers away from Nokia in the emerging markets such as India by offering Dual SIM phones with MP3 and camera for Rs.2000-Rs.2500.

well that was expected as Nokia was losing potential customers in the INdian market where its a major stake holder , outside india , nokia phones are not a craze in US. UK or europe
^ Yup. IIRC their market share is 54.1% in India. Still they are the no.1 in the world with ~36% market share. I agree they are not one of the bigger players in US. But in Europe they are among the big players.
i hope they announce CDMA + GSM fone as well
just hope that they r not expensive , shud be in the range of 2-5k , not more than that
C2 looks really great for the price!
Ovi Mail, Nokia messaging, microsd upto 32GB :O, GPRS (sadly no EDGE), hot swappable 2nd sim slot! Amazing I say.

Finally! Whatever opened their eyes when the Chinese phones are flooding the market lol.
Better late than never! The phone looks pretty decent too.
So when can we expect these phones in the market on the shelf ?

C2 really looks a very good option. If i had not needed the phone soon for dad i would have considered this.

This is gonna be my next purchase.. Very very cheap phone and looks awesome for messaging and stuff.. I lost my interest in high end mobile phones, so I was waiting for something good in lower range. I’ll wait for C2.

Damn, it even has 3.5mm jack and microUSB
Even their Nokia 2690 model which sells for 2.6-2.7k has 3.5mm jack ,microUSB and a microSD slot that can take upto 8GB microSD card.
Most of Nokia’s new mobiles even those that dont have MP3 players sports 3.5mm jack only.
