With the current AI boom this will only increase.
This is the reason GPUs like 5060 & 5060Ti 8GB exists. 5070 had barely 5% improvement over 4070 Super while still having 12GB VRAM for a higher price.
PS5 sort of has 10GB VRAM, so games will be optimised for that. 8GB VRAM is just low in 2025.
We gamers literally funded the AI genesis. Hope after the initial AI infra push we would get better GPUs at better price (wishful thinking) 
That would sabotage their data centre offerings which have huge profit margins. Imagine a 5090 selling for $1200.

No wonder they keep launching 8gb vram GPUs to dunk on us gamers
9060XT 16GB for 37k, beyond that 5070 12GB is ok at 57k, 9070XT under 70k or 5070Ti at 77k (goes for such prices for brief time, else 80k+).
I myself use a 5080FE (bought for 1.05L with SBI cashback CC), I don’t consider it a good value now that 5070Ti’s prices have fallen (it was close to 90k when I bought my 5080 in Apr).

Yes they do, if you can put in 3-4k more then AMD RX 9070 16GB is the way to go for some future-proofing. On Nvidia’s side best you can get is an RTX 5070 12GB for around 58k but RX 9070 trumps it on raster and is almost equal in RT performance to 5070.

One more issue with amd is nvenc is not available , i use it a lot in video encoding and decoding both.
5070 it is then, nvidia leads in productivity tasks.
