Old and new average pricing for RAM and SSD

Given the crazy global shooting up of pricing of PC components, can someone who’s been following the pricing state the average range that existed say 3 months ago and now to get an idea of what’s fair right now?

I’m seeing all kinds of pricing everywhere and can’t decide which ones are honest and which are scams and which ones are highly inflated for SSDs and RAM especially.

If this thread cab be kept updated, I think many, especially ones looking to buy but were not following the market can benefit.

You can see specific items under each product category in pcpricetrackerindia to get some idea. It does track the price history item wise.

We have couple of resellers here who would probably know more about the Indian pricing and stock.
@TechnologyHell can chime in.
But as per my understanding. On an average, I have been seeing ~7-10% increase. But this will eventually grow, as AI is leeching the market.

You would find much better luck with enterprise grade components from old gen to be cheaper once they start replacing relatively old. But scalpers will seize it.

In most markets ram prices, especially ddr4, have shot up between 30% to 3x. AI + plus production issues. Ram makers are making ram specific to data centre use (high bandwidth ram), so pc ram production is down and falling.

Storage also has huge demand, except smaller capacity drives. But if manufacturers focus on data centre demand, all storage will get expensive. Lets hope this cycle doesn’t last long.

My Teamgroup T Create Expert 32GB(16GBx2) 6000Mhz CL30 kit was 9k before now it’s 12k

Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite 2TB was 8k before now it’s 11k

These prices will further increase as much as another 5k or so before they stabilize and might come down after 2 years or so.

It’s better to buy now rather later when they go up to their upper limit.

Did you purchase your Viper4300 Lite from someone in this forum or elsewhere ?
Is it QLC or TLC ?

From @TechnologyHell and its TLC I think.

Gskill Aegis 8GB RAM used to cost around Rs 1100 and now it’s Rs 3200. - 200% increase.

Crucial Basics 8gb RAM used to cost around Rs 800, now it’s Rs 3000. - 275% increase.

bought dominator titanium 64gb for 28k. now its 40-45k

Question is will it ever stabilise even after 2 years to the earlier levels or will it settle down at a higher base price?

Also g.skill from limited lifetime, limited their ram warranty to 5 years.

Razer deathadder essential had 2 years warranty , bought for friend recently and saw 1 year warranty only..

Now some A520 motherboard costing more than b550 motherboard price was in January 2025.

We must vote with our wallet and keep using our old product if its not required to buy newer n better product for 200-300% more price than usual..

And pc gaming is like buying problems with money, its not a smooth experience no matter how much you pay. You will have driver issue, windows issue, and what not. At this point i think gamers are better off with console atleast they will get the peace of mind.

This feels like the stock market of 2008.

Im at that point even 64gb isnt cutting for me anymore and seeing the price almost double makes me not wanna spend that much and wait out a bit more.
