Old DMs are in accessible after Migration

After the Migration, it seems like old DMs are inaccessible. Is it happening to me or everyone else?

I am able to access them

Old DMs are there but attachments are not.

I am able to see old DMs but am unable to send a DM to a user. Canā€™t find an option to start a conversation in somebodyā€™s profile

I see a good chunk of my DM inbox and Bookmarks list missing. Only a selective number in random shows up.

i generally click on the personā€™s profile pic.. then choose ā€œmessageā€œ box.. is that not visible for you?

You need to click on ā€œSentā€ too for seeing all the missing DMs in ā€œlatestā€ tab.

Thatā€™s because you are currently at former ā€œapprenticeā€ level with no market access & DM privileges. You need to have at least 25 posts in non-general/non-market sections made on 15 different days to gain basic member level.

uh oh. Thatā€™s one specific rule. Didnā€™t think that even after 1 year, I would still be in this category. But at least now it makes sense. Thanks! :slight_smile:

I purchased something and someone helped me buy it from his card. We had personal messages, he even sent me the bills on the DMs. Now, I donā€™t have access to those. Donā€™t even remember his name, ig it was anmol or something.

Naah dude, this ainā€™t the issue when techenclave was on xenforo i purchased EnclavePlus to get DM access for purchasing a product. I bought it with the help from someone from techenclave. I had chats from him, which included bills.
Later my EnclavePlus expired but DMs were there until TE transferred to Discourse.

edit - yes it was either @solo_wing or @Slayer69 or @severus who helped with the purchase.
Can above tagged member verify who was it?

I can see your user tag is now ā€œBeginnerā€ which is equivalent of ā€œApprenticeā€ in the old version of forum. Maybe Xenforo allowed to keep DMs after DM privilege is revoked but it seems Discourse doesnā€™t so you likely need to get DM privileges again to access those old DMs. Wait for @Renegade to confirm this.

hmm, maybe thatā€™s the case and I scrolled thru old forum posts and found out it was anmol who helped me with the purchase.

It reminded me of another member here who was a great guy with similar name & who is unfortunately no longer here.
