Hey guys,
The title says it all.
If a similar event is conducted here on Techenclave how many of you would be interested ?
And yes it will surely have Very Exciting Prizes to be won.

HEH..
count me in…
But maybe this is not the right time of the year for ocing competition when its getting hotter and hotter, day by day.
I dont mind as I have AC in my room
Am in too…but r u givin ppl ur same specs …
cuz otherwise it wudnt b fair
i mean how will u ppl decide who wins???
also wht r the prices…
thats why we want it now,It will be tough to OC,will really test the OC’ing skills of an overclocker.
Well we havent decided anything about the details. We are conducting this poll to gauge teh interest among members.
And Dont worry, the Prizes will be declared when things are finalised and they will be good ones.
Not that I am likely to participate, but how are you going to verify the OCs? Cos if it is screenshots u want, photoshop and me might just make a joint entry… evil2:
Am already in…
well seeing guys around here …i probably think it shud happen
Well it wont be that easy.
We will do all that is possible to avoid fake entries.
how do we take part… and do you take into account mobo limitations.. like max htt is 300 for me while its 400 for ya ( )
and can we cheat hehe .. more fans , water cooling , air con , phase change etc etc
^^ as long as its legit, no one complains
I think it will be won by the one who is the richest amongst us.See no point in it.In US comp hardware is so cheap in comparison to one’s salary that such competitions make sense.U can spend a 100 or 200 bucks on hardware and hey its only a 100 bucks right. Here oops there go 5k down the drain!
I can take my cpu,as an example to 2.2-2.3ghz@1.9v,much greater than my current 1.9ghz@1.675v,but were do I find a TT 12 or aerocool in bloody NP?
Also even u restrict it to A64 setups, what about those on poor via K8T800 chipsets w/o pci locks, they stand no chance against nf3/nf4 systems,no matter how great the person’s technical (oc) ability is.
Good and shud go ahead with it, just make sure no one cheats
i wont be able to participate though, coz i am a proud owner of a Presc(h)ott and an Intel MOBO
maybe when i get an A64 setup, i’ll participate
Will love to watch you guys… Wont participate though…
@ undettaker,
We are aware of the issues you spoke about. that is why the o/c will not be in absolute terms but in relative terms.
for e.g. if your cpu is 2 ghz and you o/c it to say 3 ghz.
Then it is nearly 50% o/c over the stock speed of the cpu.
next consider a 2.4 ghz cpu in the same product line as the cpu mentioned above. if you o/c that to say 3 .1 ghz then the o/c percentage over its stock speed is less than 50% , hence the first mentioned rig will get more points than the latter.
This will rule out the possibilities of guys owning kick-ass rigs to walk away with the prizes.
and that is only one of the criteria of awarding the points.
basically we would be judging the amount of effort a member puts in his o/c. the indigenious ways the member adopts the cooling methods etc…, and how effectively he utilizes the resources avialable to him.
Also the whole idea behind this is to encourage Overclocking amongst the members and a platform for all the members tocome together and share their knowledge, thats all.
Don’t take it as a do or die kinda competition..ehhehehe
And the main intention is to have fun…isnt it.
Also we have not yet finalised anything. This poll is here to discuss about suggestions, opinions of all the members.
Accordingly we will conduct it.
Also in the future we do plan to have various competitions.
Come on guys dont be spoil sports…after all its free…so why not give a try ?
Participation is important isnt it ? hehehehhe
Hey…if this doesnt workout…hav a gaming competition:)
yup…good idea.
but i’m in rave’s category (original intel) so wont be able to participate.
how is the idea to make different sections ?
like ,
1] Intel Catagory [members with Intel systems]
2] AMD Catagory [members with AMD systems ]
Or something similar to make the competition fair ?
Also people having 2 systems, say 1xamd,1xintel can participate in both catagories with a chance to win in either or both catagories.
Please guys.Come up with some good ideas.
Gr8 idea guys ! Go ahead with it, though i wont b participating…
Well many members here are agreeing with the idea but nobody interested in participating???
why so ?
The Staff of TE is NOT allowed to participate in the competition. Please note that.
So Good Overclockers like,
Deejay,Apollyon,Masky…are NOT allowed to participate as they will be judges.
