My dad wants to upgrade from his O2 XDA IIi
Need suggestions on whats new in the market like o2, hp, htc etc etc?
Everything should be able to sync from the o2 to the new mobile.
Shouldn’t be as bulky as the IIi, no keypad/keyboard required
Camera and Price no matter

They are basically the same thing. O2 buys phones from HTC and brands them with their logo.
If you like a bigger size, check out HTC Kaiser (aka TyTN II) or HTC Cruise.

if u read thru a thread here you would realize how pathetic htc’s service really is.. Hence think twice before you opt for it, also iv personally used htc touch an was totally disgusted by it.. sold it after a couple of days for 2k loss..
My advice is stick wit o2 if u necessarily want a pda type phone.. Else try iphone considerin tat wit the htc u get next to negligible service, a gray market iphones not a bad choice.!

Check out the Asus P527 too. Though a lot of reviews say its slow, I found it quick enough. Got GPS, FM, 2MP camera with autofocus, jog-wheel and a lot of other nice features. Its amongst the most well featured phones I have seen for 17k.

I was in the mobile market a few days back and HTC phones were doing well. Imate phones were not available in most of the stores.
Most HTC phones of late have severe issues cos of lack of basic hardware accelerated graphics which existed in old phones. Be aware of that fact.
If your dad knows how to use WM phones, HTC Touch will be fine. Almost 90% of the people complaining about the Touch didn’t know anything about WM phones and just expected everything perfectly out of the box. IMHO WM phones are still not good enough for the mainsteam public, but if you are used to one or are willing to learn they are awesome.
actually i dont hav any experience wit o2.. but of wat iv heard even their service is not really up2 the mark.. someone i know had a prob wit o2 a year or 2 back an he had 2 send the phone to bangalore or somewher for repair.. but that wat like 2 years back.. dont hav any idea bout current service standards..
Which area would suffer due to that ? Games, video play back , capturing images ?
main + of p527 and artemis seems to be gps which dad wont ever use

list some alternatives then…dont want GPS which seems to be coming in all new pdas now…they increase price by 3-4k for something never to be used
well.. honestly even iv been lookin for a pda based phone for myself.. 
hehe.. but havnt been able 2 find one an hence stuck wit my old phone..
was lookin at o2 zinc a lil time back.. but it seems its been in the market for too long witout any upgradation an hence decided to skip on it.. !!
The price difference between a Touch and Artemis is around 1k .
The Artemis also has FM receiver.
Artemis runs on WM 5 and Touch on 6
