Pibox India - USB 3.0 to SATA III Hard Drive Adapter @ 699

https://amzn.in/d/hHr4LFk

This is the one.. it give full speed of sata specs

As I was expecting, its for 2.5 inch drives only no?

Do they provide used products? I’ve been waiting for the product, and after I received it, the power adapter seemed scratched and had minimal wear and tear.

Although that adapter seems better than advertised 12V 2A and you received 12V 2.5A adapter, I would ask for a replacement. Send photos to Amazon ask for a replacement.

Seller ?

If PiBox, call up customer care or Chat on WA from their website

See reviews , its a known issue

So, shall I keep it or return it?

Whose the seller was the question ?

Giving used jio adapter with pibox sticker on top.

Indian resellers at their finest. While the Jio power adapter is okay choice for long-term use (if it is really original in the inside), this being a used one, still leaves a bad taste in the customer’s mouth.

This one won’t give any benefit if used with an HDD, SATA3 HDD will never use 6gbps speeds.

On using with SSD though you will indeed get 6gbps speed instead of 5gbps that we normal get from USB3.0.

But here is the catch, to touch 6gbps speed with SATA3 SSD. You need to have USB3.1 gen 2 port, if it’s a USB3.1 gen 1 port then it is same as USB3.0, giving only 5gbps.

What power adapter would be needed for this to run smoothly ?
See multiple posted in thread.

I don’t have 3.5" HDD as of now to test, will remove one from a device and test in next couple of days.

Use a SATA3 SSD as a pendrive with this adapter. If your SSD is not showing up on your PC for any reason, open Disk Management. It will definitely be listed there, just assign a drive letter to it, and then it will appear in File Explorer.

When I have to do this step, there is no eject option for the drive, unlike what we normally get with pendrives.

But in cases where I don’t need to assign a drive letter, the eject option does appear.

I still don’t understand why this happens or what is the reason behind it, on some drives the eject button shows up, on others it doesn’t.

Purchased 269/ one

Any power adapter which you have plethora of , from old routers and test all your 3.5 HDDs

Are you selling your sealed 3.5 1TB HDD ?

Working fine with an old 3TB HDD I removed from a casing which I have not used since last few years.

The power adapter I am using is 12V 1.5A (18W).

Bought and received . Same model . Has external power adapter port . Tried to transfer data from laptop to SSD using this . Got 120MBps consistent with fluctuations from 99 to 132 MBps

Now to test for 3.5 inch one of days …. Open PC take out HDD … connect , test will be a chore as if i will open it will have to clean the PC also ..:sob:
