First the pixel 6a batteries and now this. Google pixel is digging their own grave
IDK what it is with the Pixel lineup that makes it have terrible QC issues every year. Either hardware or software or both.
I don’t think this kind of test can say anything about the QC of a phone. These batteries are not cut proof. If you cut a Li ion battery, it is going to catch fire. Moreover, it didn’t explode. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be having his hands. It just caught fire which was expected as it got punctured. But, the typical clickbaiters using the term “explode” for catching fire and being a moron for a youtube video by being in the same room as burning Li battery and inhaling toxic fumes.
One of the most cringiest youtubers around, no idea how he hit millions of subs over the years.
People will watch just about any trash on yt.
People just like to watch others do extreme shit. That’s why channels like will it blend get popular. In a normal scenario is anyone putting their device in a blender? Hell nah. But people just like to see crazy shit.
Regular scratch and durability tests should be enough. But people like to see absurd shit.
He does warn people not to put this in the back pocket.
He does have a point when he says he’s been bending phones for a decade now and none of their batteries ever failed this way.
I do enjoy watching him destroy phones as it gives a good idea of the weak points and precautions to take.
Fortunately he gets enough revenue from this genre of videos to continue doing them
As to critiques of what he’s doing. That’s more applicable to other people doing bizarre stuff that is mostly entertainment than practical
Not sure how what he does is practical. Does it even reflect a normal use case ? I mean scratches and drops yes but physically destroying a phone or its battery ? Naah, so how often is that likely to happen in real life ? How many such documented cases we have for this phone blowing up during normal use ? When you bend such a battery what does one expect will happen.
Why stop at only scratches. He doesn’t do drop tests very often.
Bending a phone shows how strong it is.
He doesn’t destroy the battery. When has he ever done that.
It went off on its own. Isn’t that surprising.
Kinda early fir that isn’t it.
The same thing as when bending phones for over a decade now.
Nothing!
Why is nobody getting this bit?
How often does anyone bend a phone ?
