Post pictures of "good" and "bad" packaging of TE deals

Were you ever impressed or frustrated by a TE member’s packaging? Time to post them pics here. From searching around, all I could find was that you should bubble-wrap stuff or sandwich between thermocol. And deal threads often have a buyer saying “received product in good packaging”, but I wanna see pictures.

Generally most people here if the packaging was not good or came damaged
Will mention it on the topic itself.

Most people will not care to post pics of shipping as long as the item they recieved was in good condition.

It is normal human behaviour. We want to quickly cut open the package and check all is well.
That is the end result.

This is a good topic. It will help others with the dos and dont’s of packaging goods, especially electronic goods.

Just don’t name anyone (hide your and sender details), its for mutual learning, not to pin point.

Plus it will be fun to see some unboxing of custom packaged goods.

There were one or two packaging guidelines threads which were stickied in the old TE. Whatever happened to those?

I don’t think people would click pics unless the packaging was pretty bad and something was damaged. And even if they did, they might be unlikely to post it due to fear of confrontation. So I really doubt you’d see many (or any) pics in this thread. I hope I’m wrong though, because I’m certainly intrigued.

I generally follow some basic guidelines.

  • Double box when the product is fragile or high-value. So, almost always in the case of electronics.
  • Items shouldn’t be able to move/rattle in the box.
  • Related to the point above, but always use void fillers to fill the empty space in the box/boxes you’re using. Don’t use something that will easily get crushed.
  • Using good quality boxes (obviously)

This is a personal thing and somewhat unrelated, but I’m trying to use more eco-friendly packaging solutions and moving away from plastics. So, things like honeycomb “bubble” wrap, using regular/kraft paper as void fillers, etc. Also, try to keep good quality/condition shipping material you get from marketplaces/e-commerce orders. Reusing helps.
