Problem with Sapphire 5750, Random BSOD's

Hey All,

Last week I bought a new Sapphire 5750.

Currently I am on windows XP (planning to go Win 7). I uninstalled all my drivers using Driver cleaner. Installed latest drivers (10.2) from ATI site and tried Assasin’s Creed 1 on all hight settings with 1920 X 1080 resolution. It is giving me random errors. BSOD, VPU recover errors etc. I got a nasty quirky sound and then a VPU recover error while playing Batman AA.

Do I need to do a windows clean install again or am I doing anything wrong.
This is my first descent Graphic card. Am I doing something wrong.

Please help me out guys.

I doubt if HD5750 is meant for WinXP. If you plan to use Xp, try a clean install, as driver update doesnt work well in ATI.

Strong Recommendation: Move to Windows 7 and put your DirectX 11 card to use.

^^ Sure, I would be trying Win7 this weekend but I dont think 5750 is not meant for win XP. ATI is proviving drivers for Winx XP for 5750. I do understand that I will not be able to use directX 11 features if I stick to Win XP.

Make sure u install directx feb 2010 update. And from this pont on don’t touch driver cleaner to uninstall ati drivers. Do this. Download directx update from microsoft website or guru3d servers.

Simply uninstall ur drivers. Reboot your pc. Install directx. Reboot again and install ati catalyst.

If u r still facing problems. Do clean install of xp or move to win7 and use catalyst 10.3 pre drivers on win7.

found some problems in windows xp users using ati 5 series… like low fps,bsod etc etc

DO a clean OS install, most preferably the one u mean to keep, which in case here is WIn7.

Then download and install Catalyst 10.1 or Catalyst 10.3 beta (truthfully speaking, 10.2 SUCKS)…

Install the February 2010 DirectX Redist from MS website…

For anyone else who buys a 5XXX series for win XP : its really not meant for it.

This card really shines with all its glory in win 7. All problems gone and everything is working just too well.:clap:
