Protect unused HDMI, USB cables from dust

Is there an inexpensive way to protect unused HDMI, USB, and other ports on devices like PCs, laptops, and TVs?

My PC sits just 1.5–2 feet from a large window, and dust keeps collecting inside the small ports. One USB port has already stopped working because of this.

I’m looking for a simple, low-cost solution to keep these unused ports covered and protected.

You can either buy port covers (prices vary) or 3D print them.

Thanks..
What is generally required male or female ?
I will go for USB Type C and HDMI ports in two different orders, as mostly these are needed..
More then 5 each.

just wrap cello tape on it.

I’ve been looking for these, but cheaper. These seem expensive and not the distribution of ports that I need. The ones I don’t need will remain waste. How much will 3D printing, say, 10 of each kind cost? Any idea? Completely new to 3D printing. Will it turn out cheaper than these listings?

It should be bery inexpensive less than 10rs for each one regardless of port type, i can 3d print it for you

Wow! That’s good pricing. However, I wonder if shipping costs would negate the price advantage. Which city you at? This offer is quite tempting.

Im in hyderabad. Shippijg should cost around 100-150 eith surface shipping to most places

That’s the bummer. Can’t get it in low quantities then. Will reach out once I take stock of how many I need for all the unused ports around the house and then may be the quantity can justify the shipping. Thanks, buddy

Sure no worries, but looking at the price of them online even if amazon provides free shipping it might be cheaper, ymmv

Do note - 3D Printing vs Silicone caps.

What is better?

@Pauljacob!!

I’m selling HDMI dust caps on The Techtellectual Store: HDMI Anti-Dust Plug – The Techtellectual Store

I am looking for HDMI, USB Type A and USB Type C.

I do prefer silicone ones, but not sure if we can get them cheap or 3d printed.

Can you offer a assorted pack of dust plugs, like say 10 HDMI, 10 USB-C, 10 USB-A. Preferably printed with TPU.

Same question to @whizzkid

Dont have the setup ready to print with tpu but can do it if you are okay with pla/petg.

I don’t think PLA would be safe, if there is any contact with the pins the hard plastic might damagge them? Just thinking out loud here.
