parts sourced till now i5 10400, samsung nvme 250gb

final build will be as follows
i5 10400
b460 aorus m gigabyte
8gb x 2 ram sticks
1 tb hdd wd blue
deepcool gammaxx gte v2 cpu cooler
coolermaster mb 311l case

You don’t really need a 650w SMPS for that build unless you plan to upgrade to a 3070 in the future. Even a 500 or 550w SMPS will be able to drive that build easily, especially with a 1650 super which doesn’t consume that much electricity.

Get it online from amazon or flipkart or other sites

You may consider Antec HCG750. You will find at the same price as the CX650 and it is fully modular

avoiding antec only corsair or coolermaster thanks for the suggestion
how are coolermaster psu’s ?

Antec, corsair, seasonic, coolermaster are all reputed brands. I have been using corsair for more than a decade and I have had my fair share of corsair problems as well. I have had 2 VX450, 1 TX550 fail on me and I have had one CX430, and recently CX650M Dead on arrival. That is why this time I went with an Antec HCG750

How did you decide on the PSU power requirements? 650W seems like overkill unless you’re planning to go for unbranded units.

psu power i always use a higher one adding components becomes easy later u need not worry about the psu :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@@girish925 Don’t assume quality from the brand names though. Even manufacturers like Corsair can have bad designs. Whichever PSU you go for, please try searching for a teardown / circuit level review of that specific model.

Yup. HCG one. Has a decent rating on PSU tier list on LTT
