Query regarding IRCTC tatkal ticket

I bought 3 tatkal tickets today from irctc app. All in waiting list. Paid through paytm upi. Problem is, only 2 of them showing on irctc app, 1 is not showing. Money debited from bank for all tickets. What can I do to get refund for the non booked ticket? I can’t even identify which txn is for which ticket as no upi reference no. is mentioned on IRCTC ticket!
This was my first time trying to buy a tatkal. The first payment/ticket was stuck on payment processing page for at least 2 mins. So in panic I bought the following 2.

It will get refunded to the original payment method automatically in 3-5 business days.
No need to stress

I have faced such failures often. You don’t need to do anything. Just wait for 2-3 days, it will get refunded automatically.

If ticket is in waitlisted status they will automatically cancel and refund after deducting clerkage charges. Also, better to book with irctc website the app automatically logs me out sometime when booking a ticket.

It just got refunded. That was quick!
Btw, if you have experience in this matter, could you tell me whether there’s any possibility of TQWL 3/4 getting confirmed? Train is tomorrow at 11 pm.

This a bit tricky to answer, since people even when they end up not taking the journey wont cancel their tickets, as there is no refund in case of tatkal tickets.
Your best bet would be to check with the TT regardless, but this can be a bit problematic if you are travelling with family especially on long journey .

Just to be clear, what do you mean that there’s no refund in case of tatkal tickets? I see an option of cancelling the ticket.
My case is critical. Will be travelling with my mother who has a fractured leg and can’t travel on plane.

In your case, i wouldnt recommend travelling if it isnt confirmed beforehand.

Huh? So my 6k is lost even when I don’t get a confirmed ticket? Wtf!

no if it’s not confirmed you will get full refund[ minus the pg charges], been there faced the same thing nothing to stress out in this.

but tatkal waiting lists are very rare to get confirmed.

**ON CANCELLING CONFIRMED TATKAL TICKETS THERE IS NO REFUND.

I was talking about UPI payment failures in general, but specific to tatkal tickets.

In case of UPI, usually the money gets credited back on the same day. In case of net banking and credit cards, it can take 2-3 days. But in my 15 years of doing online banking transactions, I’ve never had to contact the bank (not even once) to get a refund for a failed transaction.
