Looged into my steam account and found these on sale. I got a week off from work to relax.
Which one would you recommend me to try out?
P.S- I enjoy story mode playstyle with good visuals and audio.
Cyberpunk is great
BUT
In my opinion, play RDR2 first. It starts off really slow, but you will experience one of the greatest stories ever told in video game history.
Pro Tip - Make sure to play with good honor. The impact will hit harder.
Red Dead Redemption 2 easily. That game left a serious mark on my soul. If you enjoy story based games, youāll love it. Cyberpunk is decent, just not as good as games like RDR2 or The Witcher 3.
I wish I could forget about Red Dead Redemption 2 just so I could relive the story.
Rdr2 is mostly popular for itās realism and graphicsā¦but I played it on low/med in 1080p with a gtx 1060. And itās the best game I ever played.
Without spoiling anything, RDR2 WILL hit you hard.
RDR2 is the sort of game where you will wish for amnesia, just so that you can play it all over again. Itās a once-in-a-generation game.
I finally started Cyberpunk with Phantom Liberty on v2.21 this year and boy, is it still buggy and takes away from the experience. The story is about okay and probably not worth the price. Still not committing to RDR2 as I havenāt even started GTA V that was provided free on Epic 5 years ago followed by the Enhanced edition. At this rate, will probably end up getting RDR2 for free. ![]()
In my opinion, Cyberpunk is 10/10 in visuals and 7-8 on various aspects like narrative/music etc.
Rdr2 is a hard 10/10 on everything. EVERYTHING. I have never played a story driven game like rdr2. I had tears in my eyes when it ended.
Titanic - āI made people cry, even men.ā
RDR2 - āHold my whiskey.ā
I had RDR2 wish listed for years since my college days from 2019. I never had the time to try it out.
It seems today is the day.
Thanks gentlemen.
Remember:
Play with good honor, and max it out. You wonāt regret it.
Do let us know the state of your emotions, after you finish the game.
rdr2 FTW
I love this thread. None of us are bashing cyberpunk. Iām sure it is reflective of the many great updates it has received since launch⦠And can now be called a good game.. maybe even a great game. The devs really did well there - Iāll give them that. Its āredemptionā was like no manās land.
But at the same time, none of us are shying away from appreciating the sheet beauty (and Iām not even talking about the visuals) of rdr2 or the fact that it made us feel super emotional. ![]()
Sure, I will post a thread and tag this one once Iām done.
Iāve always been more of a casual player like someone who doesnāt rush through objectives.
I just enjoy the experience of playing. Tend to wander off the main path doing random things and take my time exploring. Love to get immersed in the atmosphere, music, the little details. Maybe thatās how games were always meant to be played.
Thatās why I can still remember so many of them so vividly, even after twenty years. (Max Payne, Vice City, Diablo, Mafia and many more)
Those games were memories that I still carry with me.
Currently Iām doing my first playthrough of expedition 33. But I have my 2nd rdr2 playthrough incomplete in which i mostly plan to just.. fish. ![]()
If you love exploring and taking your time, you WILL find small, random story beats in RDR2 that will rival main quest missions in other games.
Also, after a certain point in the game, make sure to play the āOf Men and Angelsā side quest, and finish it to the end. Donāt Google it, play it. Itāll be in chapter 6.
Have about 170hrs on Cyberpunk 2077. The game has something new even after you complete the main story + Phantom Liberty. The gameās character customization takes it to the next level. You can have your own style of taking down enemies. Am currently running Smart weapons build. Everything from stunning visuals to music to player driven choices. Youāll be asking for more. Its easily one of the best games I have played in a long time.
Yes, I was contemplating between RDR2 and Cyberpunk.
I usually donāt like postmodern games. Thought of giving CP a try. It gave me Saints row, Watchdogs vibes.
The reviews on steam echoed that the game is not what it was at launch and has significantly improved with the timely updates.
Also, before you start Cyberpunk, make sure to watch the āCyberpunk: Edgerunnersā anime. It will take you just a few days. You will appreciate the game more, and some earlier updates dropped easter eggs and weapons from the show into the game. Itāll make the game more meaningful. To give you some context, it has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In my opinion, RDR2 has great graphics than neon light cyberpunk. You may get a headache while playing Cyberpunk. If you like old Clint Eastwood movies, RDR2 is perfect for you.
Donāt forget to donate to the camp.
