Regarding safe CPU temperature

Hi all
I bought a p.c last week with the following main configuration:
Quad core 2.4 ghz G0 Stepping
8600 GT galaxy
2 x 1GB ram
DG33 Mobo
LG Dvd writer
320 HDD
Coolermaster extreme 600W PSU

I am using a cpu temperature monitor.
Now my cpu temperature during idling is somewhere in between 40-42 deg C on 1st and 3rd core while 37 deg C on 2nd and 4th core.
When I play games the temperature shoots to 50 deg C. But it comes down to 42deg C when i close the games.
I have a normal ATX cabinet with provision for 3 additional fans(2 in the back side below SMPS and 1 on the side panel)
I have only installed one 80mm fan below SMPS.
Should i go for additional fans to dissipate the heat?I mean if the temperature of CPU is 42 deg C in winters then what will happen in summers when outside temperature itself becomes 40-42 degrees.I live in Delhi.
I have read on the net that people are achieving 40 degrees and less when overclocking at stock coolers on a quadcore processor.I am not overclocking the CPU but still idle temperature is high.Should I install 2 more fans??
please suggest some solution at the earliest…

Guys plz help me out…waiting for your responses

Know you are in Delhi, but whats the room temperature? I think lot depends on it.

50 degrees on load for a quad is perfectly acceptable. You dont need to do anything.

Hey thanks man

I feel relieved after hearing this from you

well within normal temp spectrum…

yay winters :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: my E6750 is ideling at 29c,(cores at 18c and 15c) and 50-52c (cores at 40 -43c) on 100% load :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
but the cpu fan is at 890RPM :O…can i make it go faster…ive never seen it go beyond 920rpm

saumik go to ur bios and disable the smart fan control..dis ensures the fan runs at max rated speed irrespective of cpu temp

these are the only options i get under fan control in the bios…(intel G33 mobo)
1) processor zone response
a. aggressive
b. normal - current
c. slow
2) processor zone damping
a. normal - current
b. high
3) Auto fan detection
a. next boot
b. always
c. disabled - current
