Reliable screwdriver and bit set

Looking for advice on which screwdriver and bit set to purchase. The ones I have owned in the past are always too weak and get very easily stripped leading to more and more screws being stripped.

The strongest bits will also strip, if you don’t select the right bit for the screw.

You can check by placing the bit in the screw and turning it slightly with hands, the bit should not turn, if it fits perfectly, if it turns a bit and then it locks itself in place, then there is slack, indicating this is not the right bit, it will ultimately cause the bit/screw to be stripped upon high force, if the screw is very tight.

This is currently the bit set I use also have some Bosch bits that perform remarkably better so I’m wondering if I just cheaped out
for a substandard bit set or am inthe problem

yes, you cheaped out, reviews
also share the bosch set you are talking about

https://amzn.in/d/iD639jz

It is essentially this screwdriver set

but without the ratcheting screwdriver and a few less bits since I needed the drill bits more

I use this for my computer repair: [STANLEY STHT60573-8B 8 Pcs Screwdriver Set - Yellow & Black](’

) i got this one around 800rs, except for few bits rest worked really great

i believe bit set drivers out there… most of them are fraud not to mentions they can have magnetism related issues and for me length can be issue.
so i went for screwdrivers over just bit set,

best screwdrivers are made by taparia strength n sturdiness n anti-corrosion wise but there offerings are limited sadly.
and second best material is cr-v this is these are the best i could find for the price.
and it seems nobody wants to use good material, like S2 Steel, for bits
or
wont put it out explicitely/clearly the material they use and if they use then they are overpriced or some are lacking.

also look for screwdrivers/bits strong enough that they can strip of screws not the other way around, and like other brother said
‘‘The strongest bits will also strip, if you don’t select the right bit for the screw.’’
yeah… it means material used it not upto the mark. and i am considering examples where correct n wrong bit size used differ by 1 unit
(wait why did you say unit? point being which ever unit they use plus or minus by one)

Thanks for the reply I might go for the buildskill set you linked It would seem the chrome type bits are always fragile but the greyish matte bits are almost always made from better materials

i have updated my above text, just added another paragraph,
also arre mere bhai i am here talking **against **bit sets and also said before the edit, i havent used the buildskill bit set version.
also dont go for any bit set unless they mention what type of material they used for it.

i meant to say im gonna go for the 39 piece screwdriver set the one you used looked more sturdy anyhow does it also come with a ratcheting handle?

no , no racheting handle,
And the precision ones come with free rotating handle.
These are the precision screw drivers you get with that set.
Two are stubby which are basically smaller version of bigger ones. So it’s essentially only 6 big screwdrivers.

My One of the reasons to go for it was the screwdriver stand.

I had bought 39 pieces version + precision set for a total of 1340rs something.
Use keepa .com for price tracking.

The entire point of text is to provide as much info as possible to make best possible decision as per your needs

speaking of s2 steel I found this [DOCOSS set](’

https://www.amazon.in/DOCOSS-1-Precision-Magnetic-Screwdriver-Household/dp/B07XXVVDKQ

) which claims to use s2 steel, they also have a set of 25 which has more precise bits but that is sold out everywhere it seems.

nice utility site thanks

True. You either strip the screw or the screwdriver bit lol. Also that tip is nice.

If you are feeling fancy and want to handle some bolts as well this 1/4 inch ratcheting kit is nice, though it is not a precision kit. But it does have common screw bits, and the ratchet can be very helpful in awkward places.

I am a tool pimp, I can never have enough tools.

can you tell what the material used in those bits are? i have a similar set and the bits do not disappoint

They are chrome-vanadium (Cr-V) steel screwdriver bits, it is most common material that you will find on all major brands. I think there might be variations of this further.

Ah ill keep an eye out for that type of steel then seems more reliable than the plain chrome bits
