Replacing my 1050ti - need advice

Hi everyone,
the fan on my much venerated zotac 1050ti is starting to die and while i did consider replacing the fan, i thought maybe it’s time for an upgrade.
i was trying to find something in the 10-12k range but no luck.
I’ve narrowed my choices down to these 3:

  1. 6500xt (~13k) small performance boost and very close to my budget - Amazon.in: Buy ASUS Dual AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT V2 OC Edition 4GB GDDR6 Gaming Graphics Card (AMD RDNA 2, PCIe 4.0, 4GB GDDR6 Memory, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, Axial-tech Fan Design, 0dB Technology) Online at Low Prices in India | ASUS Reviews & Ratings

  2. 3050 8gb (~18k) relatively solid performance boost but also way over budget - Amazon.in: Buy GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3050 WINDFORCE OC V2 8GB GDDR6 GV-N3050WF2OCV2-8GD Video Card pci_e Online at Low Prices in India | GIGABYTE Reviews & Ratings

  3. 6600xt (~20k) a solid contender against the 3050 but even more over-budget -https://mdcomputers.in/product/asrock-challenger-graphics-card-rx6600-cld-8g/graphics-card/radeon-graphics-card/radeon-rx-6000-graphics-card

im using an i3 10100f and a seasonic 520 psu.
i dont game much (mostly civ/xcom/tw:warhammer series) and personally i value efficiency and price over raw performance.

p.s. the fan on 1050ti is working again thanks to the magic of wd-40 so i don’t mind waiting if something more suitable (or cheaper) is expected soon.

I would say you should look into second hand stuff
6500XT or 3050 are not worth to buy

If you are open to buying used
You can find used 6600xt for around 12-13K

The Second hand market usually provides a better value in terms of GPU. All my GPU have been second handed ones, until you dont go very older model ones. GL on your search.

Do NOT consider garbage such as the 6500XT. It’s a lane-castrated PoS.

Given your use case and budget, consider the 2nd-hand market, if you aren’t averse to it.

You can pick up something such as a 2060S,5700XT,6600XT,2070S for around 10-13K, or a 3060 for 14-15K

Do not get a 10-series card because driver support for them will be ending:

Save up for a 3060 12gb for the best price to performance, power usage and vram.

save money and either go for 5060ti 16gb(44k-50k) or rx9060xt(35-40k) 16gb this cards will be the only ones which will perform for next 5 yrs due to 16gb vram.if budget is low try to find cards with minimum 6m warrenty as 3060/3060ti are going between 16-18k depending upon warrenty and model.

As others are saying, 6500xt is a pos card. Dont consider it at all. 6600 was the minimum to consider in 6000 series.

3050 usually has been badly priced vs performance.

7600 ( gpu) is probably the lowest new you should consider but it would be out of budget and doesnt have FSR4.

Nvidia has a strong advantage with DLSS. Amd has only just caught up enough with FSR4 on 9060xt/9070xt but its much more expensive than budget. FSR4 doesnt work on older amd cards.

So try to go for used Nvidia cards if you can find. But there you do have other risks. Need to avoid getting scammed, need good condition card and preferably in warranty.

8gb vram is also a bit tight now even at 1080p for many new games, but at this price range you will have to live with it. Only exception is 3060 12gb, but will be hard to find one in warranty.

Gpu market is a bit shit for low price cards. 10k range is now 20k+

Thanks everyone!
I went with your advice and bought an inno3d 2060 from a fellow TE member for 9k.
Will update the thread after it reaches me.

Update:
Running the 2060 right now and everything is working nicely. Big performance boost to the point that i’m struggling to find a game i already own that can tax it. Getting 80-110 fps on doom eternal (texture:high, everything else:ultra nightmare, rt:on, dlss:quality).

Run Wukong benchmark (free on Steam). Thank me later :poop:
