Requesting mandatory price mention rule for Flash Deals threads

Sometimes people just post a thread in flash deals section with nothing except for a link or an image of the product. This is very confusing as nowadays many deals are pincode/user specific & the whole point of flash deals section is to take a look at the flash deals details in a hurry to decide whether to get it or discuss it before deciding. I request to make mentioning of price (either via screenshot or via manually typing) mandatory while creating a thread in flash deals section.

I agree , Price should be mentioned

We can have a standard formatting already made and user just fills the data in it . It will be cleaner for user viewing and easier for user making it

I agree, something like price, pincode (that you used to price check, if needed) and extra info (if any).

No content required to be filled in body . It should be allowed to remain empty if required

If user feels he needs to write something like , Good deal , lowest as per Keepa/PriceHistory , Back in stock etc then he can

Yeah, that is now going into the excessive territory. I understand price being a requirement, and think that’s a good suggestion. But any more variables you add after that makes the process lengthy and taxing. We want it to be fast and timely for quick sharing.

My suggestion would be to have a Deal template: Post a link, add a price - just two boxes ready to drop text into.

Then let a bot or automated system handle the rest of the details, like pictures, specs, price history, pincode availibility etc. Deals forums like Desidime, Slickdeals etc have lots of tools like this, I think. We can implement some of that.

Also don’t let the task of cleaning up URLs fall on the users. Let them post whatever link they want quickly, let the system/bot clean it up and add the forum’s own affiliated links for other users. This way, users don’t have to check every link before sharing and the forum benefits from the affiliated stuff.

Yes even better , Deal Template and balance let the bot do it

Also are affiliate links allowed here, I think I saw some, I assumed its not allowed ?

Yeah I get why but then people ask which pincode you used to check the price etc. It would also help to realise when the product goes out of stock.

You already have something like this on desidime where the primary post contains the product image, link, source and price. Not too difficult to have things set up that way.

They are NOT allowed. Report if you see them

Added a template to nudge the user while creating a new topic. See if that serves the purpose for now.
