If you ask me this is the best config for gaming for you. Just change the case from CM Elite 310 to NZXT Gamma.
Dont get the Transcend RAM. Lot of bad experiences with RMA.
Better get a Kinston or a Gkill 4GB kit.

I am planning to go with Athlon II X4 620 and instead of spending money on i5 or Phenom X4 925, I would invest that in a better GPU, what say?

Ok, I went to the local PC market near my place (its like a mini-Nehru Place of Delhi) to know the prices. Below are the quotes which I received.
Proccy + Mobo kit
X4 620 + MSI 785G-E53 @ 10300 (none of them had Gigabytes 785GMT)
Few of them even suggested me to go with Phenom II X4 945 (as per them it was better than even the i7 :l), which would cost around 13200 along the same mobo.
RAM
Transcend/Kingston @ 2650 for 2GB DDR3…
I was given weird stares upon asking for quotes of Corsair and G-Skill. Few of them who had heard of Corsair though told that they can get it but no assurance of A.S.S in Delhi. 
HDD
WD 500GB @ 2250
GPU
HD4850 1GB - 7800 (512MB wasn’t available) most of them even suggested to go with NVidia GTX series..
Cabinet + SMPS
None of them had heard about NZXT, let alone Gamma :l
The quote I got was for the combined kit of Cooler Master Elite 310 + 460W SMPS @ 4500
DVD writer @ 1050
Now, I have decided to give some more time, search further this week and get the machine by next weekend and during this time I would be visiting Nehru Place fa’sure.
Questions
- As both of them are possible within my budget, how is Phenom II X4 945 in comparison to 620?
- How are the prices?
- Should I go with the alternatives, like Transcend RAM in place of Corsair/G-Skill + the CM SMPS instead of Gigabyte/Corsair?
- Is the HD 4850 1GB worth that extra money or there’s a better option if I go in that range of 8k?
- Any other suggestions/comments?

Dont ever buy the CM Extreme power or extreme power plus series PSU’s bundled with the CM cabbies. They su©k.
And ya the amd phenomII X4 - 945 is better than the athlon’s when it comes to gaming as they have 6MB L3 Cache and also clocked at 3 GHz.
If you are from Delhi why not buy from SMC. Just PM him. He is registered dealer in this forum and has all brands. Just PM him for quotes and go and pick up the stuff from him. Even if thats not possible i am sure you can get it shipped which will be cheap considering you are in Delhi and it is local shipping only
get the Phenom II X4 945 combo FTW
And for GPU, HOLD on…dunt buy HD4850 1GB for 7.8k, instead buy a
PowerColour PCS HD5750 1GB GDDR5 @ 8.4k

^^ 6.5k for the GPU..
techshop.in and theitdepot.com have 512 MB 4850 @ ~7k, mostly the Powercolor one. Otherwise the 4770 is available in your budget and its a 40nm part and vfm. I’m sure retailers still have the 4850 512MB. If you’re looking for ati 5 series cards i don’t think there is one in your budget yet, you will have to wait for the cheaper cards in the series.
