Samsung fixing Green Line for free?

Hi FM,
My spare samsung s20 ultra which has been lying idle from a long time recently suggested for OS upgrade.
Today I’m seeing green line appeared out of nowhere.
Found it’s a common issue on Amoled devices that software updates are causing such problems.

Did Samsung officially acknowledge this issue and offering complimentary repairs?

In some cases they do, you should visit the service center and ask them, i have heard that some service centers may deny, so try a couple of them. Also the repair takes a while as they send the device elsewhere to get repaired rather than in the service center.
