Seagate 2Tb - S.M.A.R.T says HDD condition bad. Backup and replace

Seagate 2Tb - S.M.A.R.T says HDD condition bad. Backup and replace.

But the PC doesn’t boot in to Windows with this drive.
It’s detected in the Bios, but not in Windows.
I have connected a new 2Tb, and once I boot from it, the bad HDD doesn’t show up in Windows.

Want to recover my data. Possible Options ?
Thank you for all the help!

Try booting with Linux or with recovey software on the other windows. See if its gets shown on Windows Manage.

Tried on another pc too. Again, same thing, shows up in Bios and while booting, but not in Windows.
The hard disk does get warm though, and there’s a spinning sound.

Help! bump

Open windows Disk Management. See if your drive is showing up in the list.

Use test disk. Install it to a bootable pendrive and use it in DOS mode to recover files. Another way is to run live Linux CD from DVD drive and try to copy paste the bad drives contents to another good drive in small batches. Copy a few mb at a time. And start with most important files first.

It doesn’t show up in Disk management.

Already tried Live CD. It showed the drive. But I wasn’t able to read any partition info.

Try with test disk. It managed to read partition info from my Seagate drive which was on similar state as yours.

Will do! But which version should I get ? Should I get Dos version, considering my drive won’t showup in Windows ?
