Hello all,
Setting up DNS in PC and Android
To level up, you can run a
Tailscale exit node at home (PC or RPi).
public IP = home IP. No IP based location tracking/blocking.
You can choose to use default DNS at home network / adjustable in tailscale settings to your liking; as default for all connected devices.
Allows me to make use of pihole on all devices, irrespective of location.
Latency overhead due to tailscale is none, since it uses a direct connection between devices (i.e as little as physically possible).
KDE Connect works over Tailscale, being connected to same network isnt requred.
ACLs let you share specific services (Port and or IP-bound) easily by granting access to their account.
no static IP/ DDNS/ exposed ports needed.
AND IT’s free with no bandwidth limits, and extremely generous device limits (100 for free plan).
Their enterprise plans fund it.
No ads, clean UI (+ cross platform), and lightweight.
