[SOLVED] Has anyone used a "5G" SIM in a JioFi router?

I was using a JioFi with a SIM since a long time. It used 4G.

Two days back I inserted that SIM in a phone that supports 5G. I was ‘upgraded’ to 5G and it worked fine.

I put the same SIM back in the JioFI and now it turns on but I cannot connect to the internet. It says ‘No internet, secured’ in Windows. I put the same SIM back in the mobile and it worked OK, so the SIM is not the problem. I cannot use WiFI (with that JioFi) on any phone, also.

I read the 5G uses IPv6, could that be the problem? Any way for me to ‘downgrade’ the SIM to always use 4G? Or any other solution?

EDIT Corrected:
“I put the same SIM back in the mobile and it worked OK,”
not
“I put the same SIM back in the JioFI and it worked OK,”

Perform a hard reset on JioFI, if it still not works, contact service support.

Looks like I damaged the SIM tray/holder in the JioFi. It shows “No SIM” in the administration web page. Hope it can be repaired, I don’t want to spend another Rs 2 K.

Turns out I had not inserted the SIM properly. Unlike phones, after you place the SIM in the tray, with a JioFi device you need to slide a small metal clasp to lock the SIM in place.
