Lol i went to buy hard disk today and the 7k 4TB hard disk is now 11k .

The sellers out right denied to sell 64 gb and 96 gb kits , they said strictly on backorder.

SSD has also increased by 20% , don’t think normal layman would be able to build a decent pc

Welcome to the club

Wasn’t this the case during Covid also? I remember the prices were high back then as well.

Any idea when this will be back to normal?

Define normal? The price are never coming down to its cheapest level, manufacturer will hold supply and create shortage like they did when ssd got super cheap in 2024 the price will cool down a bit in a year but is never truly coming down

Prices are not coming down at least next few years..

Folks if you need it, buy it now. I thought to wait out the “temporarily elevated" prices of RAM at 11k but instead they went OOS and came back at 18k.

The way the big corpos are hell-bent on shoving AI down our throats and all these announcements of launching data centres worth hundreds of billions, the prices might not come down in a long while.

The RAM prices will stay inflated until Q3 2027 it seems.

Wouldn’t this affect laptop prices as well? Because after laptop manufacturers’ existing stockpile runs out, the RAM and storage they’ll acquire at an inflated price, that cost will be passed on to the consumer.

they probably have a contract for a number of years, or locked manufacturing capacity for them

Behold the power of AI, chugging away our money, electricity, water, future and giving us recommendations to consume a pesticide instead of an over-the-counter medicine apparently because one of the compounds it found in both of them was the same. Based on a true story, my colleague got fired over this when he tried to impress the client.

People run same color RAM sticks, I will run Black and White, Yin and Yang. Shit got philosophical real quick.

Also funny enough noticed Computech going from processing → processed → ready for dispatch in sub 8 minutes. They are thoroughly capitalizing on this.

Absolutely. I was looking to buy an ssd before Diwali and that time there were some great deals on ssd at amazing price points. But I decided to buy later and now I am regretin because the prices have almost doubled and even tripled in some cases. So is it just a demand supply hike or deliberate attempt?

Just chill out guys. The prices will be back to normal sooner or later. I understand some resellers are really excited now to offload their stocks at inflated prices, but to them I say the same, just chill.

AI is sh!t … It can not replace human logical thinking… I have seen AI failing miserably many times..

It will take another decade for AI to come near perfect… But then again it can not replace human level thinking

But prices are not coming down for next few years … Hold on your old stock and tech
