Starvis 2 Dashcam (70mai A510) vs Regular 4k Dashcam?

Need suggestions for a dashcam. Budget is around 10-13k front and rear.

  • People who’ve switched from a regular dashcam to a Starvis 2 dashcam, was there a big difference in the low light performance?

  • 3k Starvis 2 dashcam or a 4k regular dashcam?

  • Has anyone had problems with lithium ion batteries in Indian summers?

Idk about the stavis 2 models but i have 70mai A500S on both my cars. They have performed really well during night time, whenever i wanted to make insurance claims never had an issue with quality of footage. Only downside i had with the cameras was they would overheat in summers when outside temp is around 40c. Might open it and add some heatsinks.

Hmm. Lithium ion batteries. Did this cause issues with the recording?

Yea it used to turn off then cooldown and restart.

I have a supercapacitor based dashcam.
Never had any problems with it heating up.
For Indian summers (and with how hot cars can get), Li-ion seemed very concerning to me, so did not opt for it.

As for Starvis 2, if the budget allows for it, get it.
It does make a difference.
4K vs 3K is less of a concern.

I have a Viofo A139Pro and it’s been fantastic so far.

Supercapacitor seems to be the smarter choice. Qubo recently released a Starvis 2 dashcam with supercapacitor battery though I’ve heard mixed reviews about them as a brand overall.

DDPAI Z50 and Woodman 4k seem to be another options with a supercapacitor battery in the 10-13k price range. Maybe I’ll do more research on those.

I have 70mai A510 and it works like a charm. Only thing is that video transfer using the app is very laggy and slow so you should use a card reader.

Any problems due to heat?

There was an update and it fixed the issue of randok restarts after heating. I’m talking about the A500S.

I use a non Starvis Dashcam but if I were to buy one today I’d get the Starvis one. I have heard that it’s better. So why not get that.

If you buy a dashcam, make sure you get the anti glare filter.

Guys
I’m planning to gift a dashcam to my friend.
Suggest me a super capacitor based Starvis 2 dash cam for both front and rear. budget 25k maximum.
It will be used in a Suzuki XL6

It does get super hot during daytime long drives and in the summer but that didn’t affect the recording.
