Have used Maharaja in the past and they are pretty good units. Was thinking of getting a Sujata mixer this time. Any other recommendations are also welcome.
Sujata Dynamix is the one you want. Cheap spares, enough power to handle Indian dishes like Southern cuisine batters, etc. I have been running one at home for 9+ years.
Every professional kitchen I’ve worked has had one as well. The only thing that surpasses that thing is a Ninja or Blendjet Professional.
Also, get it locally from Vijay Sales or Croma, much cheaper.
Go for Sujata if you can. I own one and its really good. All the parts (that can become dirty) are easily cleanable and it performs very nicely. It’s one of the brand whose products you can abuse and they will still work fine.
Also, this one promises 90 minutes continuous running… damn, that’s a lot of grinding it can do! I just need to run it 2-3 times a week for about 5-10 minutes tops.
I’ve personally processed 60 litres Raw Coconut Chutney once when our stone grinder broke down in Marriott, Goa; lmao horrifying times. Had to wear heatproof gloves as breakfast was about to open in 4 hours.
^^ The above one is priced lower at 5.6k. Is there any difference other than the big jar size (this one actually has the taller jar)? I won’t be needing the big jars in any case. Smaller jars will do the job in my use case at home.
Atomberg is better than sujata, sujata is crazy noisy and I use it a lot for blending when my parents are asleep. I don’t mind changing mixer in 5 years if it’s so much quieter.
But sujata definitely is much faster at dry grinding.
Sujata is used a lot in commercial restaurants. It’s really good, but extremely noisy. I live in an apartment, on the first floor, above a cloud kitchen, and each time they use the mixer, I’ll be able to hear it.
Preethi’s Zodiac lineup is also good. My mom has that, and she raves about it. But, I’m not sure about service or parts availability outside South India.
I’m not bothered too much about Sujata being noisy. Will be using the unit in my own house so no worries on that front. Plus I will be using the unit for only 2-3 times a week for about 5-10 minutes.
Now, can someone please tell me other than the jar sizes is there any difference between these two mixers:
supermix offers big blender jar and bigger chutney jar , power wise both are the same, while dynamix offers all 3 stainless steel jars (1.5 L, 1 L dry, 0.4 L chutney)
btw i’m personally using powermatic plus (Juicer Mixer Grinder) which parents got without discussing it with me, we used the juicer just once , it is a mess. so have kept it in the box. bought an additional chutney jar and using it for grinding purpose only and it is a beast in that.
