Suggestions for GPU upgrade at 1440p

Hi all,

I have below configuration

CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
Motherboard Gigabyte AB350M
RAM 32 GB (4 x 8GB)
GPU Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660 super
PSU Corsair CX550 ( bought in august 2018 )
Monitor Acer Nitro VG271U 1440p

I am looking for GPU upgrade,

Could someone suggest one.

I am looking to play games on 1440p

Games like cyberpunk 2077 and God of War

is 9060XT / 16GB at ₹41,000 a good card or is there any other card which would be better

You can also consider the 5060 Ti 16gb but that card costs more.

I checked the 5060Ti at 7k-10k more price, the performance is slightly better.

I think AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16Gb would be better

If your usecase is purely gaming then AMD is a no brainer
But if you are planning to use productivity suites down the line, NVIDIA might be a better option for you

Get 9060XT 16GB for under 37k.

Use someone’s SBI cashback CC for extra cashback (no extra CC charge from what I heard). If not, try someone’s HDFC Swiggy CC (may or may not get 5% cashback, do note the monthly capping of 1.5k is clubbed with swiggy 10% cb, I think).

I have a used 3070, which i got at a pretty decent price, you can check that out as well if you are comfortable with used gpus.

HDFC swiggy card cashback program works on the principle of whitelist unlike sbi cashback card which works on the principle of blacklist. For hdfc swiggy card, the mcc must match one of the codes in the list of eligible MCC so much more difficult to assume anything unlike sbi cb card where you just need to check that mcc does not match one of the codes in list of blacklisted/excluded MCCs. Also, hdfc swiggy card has 1500 cb monthly limit separately for 5% category & 1500 cb monthly limit for 10% category is exclusively for use on swiggy food order/instamart.

Thanks @OMEGA44-XT

Is PowerColor a good brand, or is Sapphire better?

Also, will a 2-fan model be sufficient, or should I spend a little extra for a 3-fan model, like the Sapphire Nitro+?

Will my power supply be enough, or will I need to upgrade it as well?

9060 is not a bad card.

i have recently upgraded to RX9070 from 1070 ti. Initially, i had the budget for only 9060 XT but i delayed the purchase and save up some more and ended up getting RX9070XT which is best decision. If i were you , i would save some more considering the two games you mentioned are graphical intensive.

The 9070 XT is priced at ₹70,000–₹80,000, which I feel is too much for a graphics card.

I think a ₹40,000 budget is more reasonable for me.

What games do you play with your RX 9700, and at what resolution and settings?

What processor did you end up pairing it with?

Agreed , the price is too much to ask for. Unfortunately the prices are not coming down anytime soon.
First , the crypto boom, then AI ML c and global sceneries is not helping to bring prices to affordable levels.

If you are casual gamer / programmer this setup is more than fine.

I used my amd 2700x + 1070 ti setup for around 7 years.

When I revisited my old games like ghost of Tsushima and elden ring, the graphical fidelity is too good and can’t go back.

I felt the same when transitioned to 3400x1400p 35" curved monitor 7 years ago.

These will be meaningful upgrade when we use them regularly instead occasionally.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900xt.

My configuration
5900xt+ rx9070xt+ 4x8gb + 850 platinum psu + 1400p

Recently upgraded both CPU 2700x to 5900xt and 1070 ti to Rx9070xt. This week I will be upgrading ram to 2x32gb in secondary market and hoping to find another kit in secondary market.

Recently, I am learning and running LLM’s in local.
