Now, I know nobody cares about Techtree ratings and we all know that most of the folks there are either too stupid or too much in cohorts with distributors/manufacturers.
But still I hate to see the kind of garbage tech sites dish in India and hence this thread… call it a rant but I want to put it in public to show how shoddy is the work websites like techtree and tech2 do.
Anyways, here is the review:
Now the question is, what is wrong with this conclusion?
The whole point of the new GT2xx series cards was to sort of cater to the green(red?)neck-ed Nvidia fans who would not buy an ATi card under any circumstances(building an HTPC for eg.). Nvidia has a more complete line-up somehow now, but to the rest of us folk, these cards are pretty pointless.
Also, since when is Techtree a review site? I always thought it was just a website for advertisements…
wow…
nvidia had launched these cards for OEM in july or something… the only dx10.1 cards from nvidia(even though dx10.1 was not important for nV)…
so how exactly HTPC requirements benefit from dx10.1 over dx10 ?!!? (no seriously.. i need to know if it does help)
these cards were surely to fool customers into buying nV dx10.1 cards… and 3dmark bundle proves the same
one of the crappiest conclusions i have seen on techtree
Come on guys. Whats the use of ranting about TT here?
If you need to say anything about the review, there is comments section right there under the review. It might just help them improve if you guys post constructive feedback there.
For all the years (my early tech years) I spent posting and commenting on their articles, I didn’t see any improvement… apart from increment in number of ad banners and advertorials that is.
If I can remember my username and password, I would dig in and come up with at least 3-4 articles where I pointed out technical mistakes/typos/numbers and wrote it in comments. No one bothered even correcting the article, for months. I suppose, post-it-and-forget-it policy is in work at TT.
These days they blatantly copy paste info from various international tech-sites for news articles/updates and don’t even bother mentioning/crediting original source many times.
There are a lot of sites which knowingly and unknowingly mislead buyers, its up to us to decide where to get our info. Also just because its Indian doesn’t mean that it should live upto the standards defined by us at TE just because we are better. If you care that much please notify them about there flaws and maybe help them, they do have comments section. Also even if they don’t take feedback or are just copying from international sites, why bother with them?
Even if you think that you are helping someone by doing this service, there are much better ways than to just flame here, you could post the correct figures and numbers or notify the potential readers about the faults in their reviews.
Just saying this cause I’ve seen a lot of pointless posts/threads mainly containing TT,TD is for n00bz TE is for proz.
It still doesn’t come close to ATI’s offerings. It is still DX10.1 when ATI has already come out with DX11. ATI has been offering DX10.1 for more than a year now. So, ATI cards are tried and tested so, if I were to go for one today, I’d go for ATI without any fear.
