How come I didn’t notice before this thread existed. Of course it does, after all Swiggy isn’t the only shitty food delivery company in the market.
Initially I was both zomato and swiggy user but due to a mishap (basically delivery guy picked up the food but didn’t deliver, app showed he had not moved at all, I remember there was a beer&wine shop right across the road from the restaurant so I assumed he had a nice wine and dine on my behalf). So I switched to zomato only but they did the same thing in end I’m back to using both apps as I can’t always make what I want to eat at home.
Their support system and the app itself is designed in a way that you waste seconds to minutes everywhere in a bid to make in forget thus give more time for the deliver to happen.
BTW have you tried to type and send gibberish in the hope it connects you to a real person? I haven’t tried it myself but I don’t think why it wouldn’t work.
At this point, I am not sure who comes with this stupid ideas. I don’t think I have Zomato more than twice in last 3 months. How viable is the model of Zomato anymore?
Simply stopped pushing for delivery a long time ago. Now I place the order based on the estimate and close the app. Just track the minutes disabled on the island to see the ETA is not too off the mark. Otherwise, the apps are so saturated with content and ads now that it is a nightmare to use them.
Honestly, I’m impressed they were able to hold out this long. If I was running Zomato, I’d have matched Swiggy’s offer immediately and not wait almost a year to see order numbers never go back up.
2019 - I think there’s an extra burger in my order. Food delivery apps: We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. Here’s a full refund to your order and extra coupon for next time
2025 - Half my order is missing. Food delivery apps: sucks to be you lol gl next time
It’s the same as torrents becoming more popular as streaming becomes less desirable. The slow creep of fees and charges is having the very desirable effect of weaning me off food delivery. The convenience is definitely attractive, but something about applying a “Rs 150 off” coupon only to get a final order amount higher than the price of the items you added is deeply upsetting.
They had this 1-2 years ago or so in Delhi, but stopped it after a while. I got a coupon for 70-100 off a couple of times. Used to be helpful for restaurants that didn’t offer discounts.
I stopped ordering from these craps ever since my grandmother’s cake was spoiled. The delivery guy took a detour during 1-2pm for a food. There was this lanngar being given to people around the Cannaught Place area. The cake was from Wenger’s.
Customer care was adamant that there is traffic in the area and I had to send the call recording (luckily I was so pissed that day, I recorded the call where driver mentioned he was eating)
But initially, they told me rider told them there was a traffic jam for 2hrs. The cake was spoiled as it was peak summers.
My refund of the cake and other items was rejected by CS and then I sent the call recording. Got the refund with apologies of the zonal head at the time.
Was their elite customer, swiggy is just useless. Except for their groceries.
