The "Everyday" show-off thread ! (Part 1)

Thanks !

Downside is the NVMe runs HOT ! Idle temps are around 49 degrees, and temps on workload hit 60 degrees plus easily.

Is this a downside of nvme or just happening in your chassis? Try giving it some air/collog something..

Nah.. those temps are normal..
My 970 evo plus 512gb also runs with similar temps

Downside of NVMe. There are cooling solutions available though. The critical temp listed for this is 85.

Hmm ok. I would have just done some modding to put a fan on it.

In a laptop. Fan is sadly not possible. All NVMe drives run hot, they do decrease speeds when temps get very high. I don’t think I will have that sorta workload often - except photo editing.

Hmm okay. Enjoy.

I’m making the exact same jump. Just got my 1TB 970 Evo Plus m.2 nvme today! In all likelihood will move stuff of my 860EVO 500GB and sell it off.

That Amazon deal on the 970Evo Plus was just killer

Congrats bro !

I’ve heard NAND actually lasts longer when it’s run hotter. But heat can affect the controller.
