The Hunt for the BEST Controller (Hall Effect)

[HEADING=2]The Hunt for the BEST Controller (Hall Effect)[/HEADING]

This is the ULTIMATE showdown of game controllers that we missed in our last video; we’ve got over 20 remotes and we’re trying to find which is THE BEST! What has the lowest input latency? Which has key features like Hall Effect Sticks and Triggers? Which feels comfiest? Which is the best for the budget? We’re covering it all, and including a handy tier list.

Which ones can we get in India… I see the Gamesir G7 SE on Amazon.

This doesn’t seem to be a particularly exhaustive list of popular options. Also Hall Effect sticks are being replaced by TMR which addresses some of its shortcomings. Not going to watch the video but don’t see options like the Vader 4 Pro and Cyclone 2 on the list that are regularly recommended.

no PS5 controller?

I use the Gamesir Tarantula and its a pretty good controller. Comes with the PlayStation layout. One gripe I do have is that the trigger buttons don’t have a lot of feel and this is especially pronounced in racing games.

[The Cyclone 2](’

), seems to be way better and similar to the price of the G7 SE. But is it XBox certified/compatible and all?

The Cyclone 2 doesn’t support the Xbox as-is but you can use it with a wireless adapter that costs extra.

Then the G7 SE would be better choice as I want to play some Minecraft with it on a M1 Air. I think X-Input controllers are supported on macOS now.

Ordered Cosmic byte blitz, based on the reviews will update one used.

Well they don’t mention macOS but it’s possible it might work in XBox mode, theoretically.

Will check and let you if it works with mac os

If you don’t need to use the controller with an actual Xbox console, you might not need to get a licensed controller (although licensed controllers might include some extra features like impulse triggers that are supported in select titles even on PC).

Virtually all current PC controllers including the Cyclone 2 would support XInput on Windows (I don’t know about Mac support).

It works with mac os connected using type c to type c cable, usb dongle. And android tv and PC when connected with dongle no bluetooth. Controller is light weight , left and right sticks have good precision for direction, triggers are ok not pressure sensitive. Used with retrobat, not completely lag free. Overall good for casual gaming .

Been using Cosmic Byte Stellaris for some time. Best part is that it can be connected to PC, Android phone, iOS/macOS/tVOS device, windows, Nintendo devices (flick of switch at the back). Great buttons and sticks but range is a big minus. It has to be in line of sight with the dongle and BT is scratchy. Works much better with Apple TV in living room and I have no idea why. With PC, I cannot even go half the distance.

Banggood again opened to shipping to India. Just check it for all kinds of controllers.

I found this [website](’

) which has test reports on a lot of controllers. Gamepadla, also has software to test latency on your own controllers. Might be worth checking out.

I’ve been using the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro controller for a few months now, and it’s amazing! The Hall Effect joysticks mean no stick drift, the build quality is solid, and the battery life lasts forever. Works great on Switch, PC, and more, with low latency, gyro support, and responsive buttons. Easily one of the best third-party controllers out there. Highly recommend it!

Anyone else using it? What’s your experience?

any with hall effect/TMR but using AA/AAA batteries? weight being no issue? That’s my main gripe with both controllers/mouses.
