They claim 5yr warranty.
Should I buy it ?
There is a review of EVM ssd in this forum somewhere; you need to search for it.
I would not bet my important data with it. 5 years of warranty means shit if you lose your data. It should be ok as a secondary disk etc.
No comparison to Crucial , EVM doesn’t stand anywhere in front of Crucial
This is lowest tier and Crucial is 2nd best after Samsung or comparable depending upon models
I have a 1TB evm sata ssd as my secondary drive(I don’t trust them for a main drive). I also bought a defective EVM Ram and had it replaced under warranty. The process was smooth.
No, Crucial is of the best. Consider EVM as a low tier alternative for your “hesitant to delete stuff”
Well, cheap disks are just that, cheap. For important jobs like a server OS, or for storing high value data, choose of the top tier ones from this list:
Many are not available in India, but you can find some that are.
Go with crucial if your data is crucial in nature. If you are using just for booting then any brand ssd works.
Not all ssd from crucial are good. All big companies have to cater to low price points and sell low quality stuff.
For anyone looking, this also has entries for NVME SSD tiers, along with SATA SSDs.
My crucial bx500 failed without warning at above 80% health. Important data lost.
Crucial BX series is their cheap series, not good quality. Though any drive can fail, but CX series is much better for important data or continuous use.
Yeah i have no faith in that company anymore. I only go with bigger brands now like samsung or wd for SSD
Guys, it’s called EVM. Doesn’t that ring a bell?
