A symptom of distress in society ?

Pretty nonsensical considering we learn from those who teach.

And those who do can also teach too. I learned from someone who does both.

It’s used as a insult in some circles. Like if you were proficient enough to earn from that knowledge, you wouldn’t be wasting your time to teach it to others, implying that everyone’s ultimate goal is to chase a higher salary.

Newton was a professor

To be fair, space travel wasn’t invented yet so he couldn’t get a job as a rocket scientist.

then you are speaking for yourself. if you learnt anything in the indian education system or indian society in general, it says alot more about you, than about how good the gyani babas are

when people speak of gyaani babas they are talking about your neighbourhood uncles not newton

As I get older, I appreciate these personalities more and more.

I mean I disregard their views and advice, but I appreciate their existence and their efforts to take control of a situation and place themselves in a position to be valued.

I’ll have chai with them and disagree with everything they say and come back the next day for more chai.

My neighbourhood uncles are cool. They were discussing when India - Pak war will happen since Pahalgam. I believe many of them are working with RAW and other agencies. Also, they give me life advice from whatsapp university.
