TP-link JetStream 8-Port Gigabit Smart PoE Switch with 2 SFP Slots @3k

I received a brand new one. It’s not mp and its the old eol’d one.

What’s interesting is that the date of manufacture is Jun 24.

It ships with a 53.5v 1.3A AC-DC brick, which will be a hassle to find replacement for if there are issues.

It’s strange as I was checking a Netgear switch GS108E-300 and it is also EoL from 2022 but still produced and sold. The V4 that comes with -400 identifier is not available.

Same. It says Jun ‘24 mfg but it’s the old version. Do I keep it or return?

If you need it then keep it, you should get warranty from purchase date & replacement as same same product when availing warranty.

There are quite a few differences between the old and new models so I’m not quite sure yet

The current price is 9990. You can see another user with a listing of some generic PoW switches for 2500. A new product for 2990 is still better than that? Or if you want a load of ports then there’s the switches galore topic.

I didn’t order it as I have no need for a PoE switch currently or in the foreseeable future.

And that price is not worth paying in any situation so might as well consider it irrelevant. This specific product is worth paying this much discounted price only thinking of it as a simple 8 ports PoE gbps switch which has smart management feature as a sort of additional nice feature.

Thanks @BinaryBard and @The_Eternal_Guest

I’ll be keeping this. I don’t need it currently but in 2-3 months my house construction will be completed and I’ll need it then for cctv, TVs, extra PCs.

nice! will you be using an NVR and PoE for the cameras?

Yep, I haven’t decided on the entire configuration yet but I might use nvr or nas for multipurpose
